Elizabeth Dessert Hunt pursued her undergraduate
degree at both the Manhattan School of Music studying with Ellen
Faull and Stetson University, where she studied with Bob and Mollie
Rich. She continued her study at the graduate level with Grace
Hunter and John Moriarty at Boston Conservatory of Music. She
has performed a number of leading roles, including Rosalinda in
Die Fledermaus, Rosemene in Handel's Imeneno,
Angelica in Gilbert & Sullivan's Trial by Jury, Suor
Angelica in Puccini's Trittico, and Malvina in the American
premier performance of Marschner's Das Vampyr.
She has received a number of awards and prizes, including 2nd Place
in the palm Beach Opera Competition and Rose Palmai-Tenser Scholarship
Competition and was a regional semi-finalist in the New England
Metropolitan Opera Auditions. Buffy, as she is affectionately known,
is now the owner of a software development company and is a partner
in a website development company. She is married to Danny Hunt,
a pharmacist and lawyer. She has a son, Danny, who is now enrolled
in Stetson University.
